I am working as an Health Informatics Analyst in Hospital Authority Hong Kong, focusing on pathology informatics.

After earning master of medical laboratory, I developed interest in data analytics thus I am studying a degree on it.

I am an active choral singer with flexible voice parts (it depends on sound balance); also I am a voluntary Academic Officer in Kusala Education.

What is on now? I have switched team since August 2024, and I am now working three modules in eHealth System. The first system is the eHR Viewer, the core eHealth System application which supports practitioner view their client's records shared to eHealth System. I also work for the Distrct Health Centre IT System, which supports the documentation and accounting of the primary healthcare centres. Moreover, I support the development of Encounter Notification Module in eHealth System, which healthcare providers can view encounter records of their clients in a proactive way.
Notable projects working includes introducing systems for purchased allied health services, revamping of the eHealth Systems and revamping of Encounter Notification Module.
At this stop, I moved my path to work on pathology informatics in Hospital Authority Head Office.
Primary works include content development of Hong Kong Clinical Terminology Table (HKCTT), and project management of laboratory and its peripheral systems.
Other than Laboratory Informatics System (LIS), I developed knowledge in utilising other systems such as Clinical Management System (CMS), Electronic Patient Record (ePR), Electronic Health Record Sharing System (eHRSS), Clinical Data Analysis and Reporting System (CDARS). Projects involving other clinical works include CMS team management, important result reminders, medication genie, and CDARS-Lite.
During tenure I further develop skills of utilising tools for:
1. Data retrieval (SQL, MongoDB, Access, CDARS),
2. Data wrangling and analytics(Python, R, Excel Power Pivot),
3. Data visualisation and presentation (Excel, QlikSense, Kibana, Tableau), and
4. Interoperability knowledge (SNOMED CT, LOINC, FHIR).
I was a part of clinical staff at the time, with the position of Associate Medical Technologist in Hong Kong East Cluster, Hospital Authority.
As taking a side part of the patient journey, I supported the preparation and analysis of clinical samples in emergency and chemical pathology laboratories, ensuring the result quality, perform user acceptance testing and handle enquiries from medical and nursing staff.
During this period, I helped exploring alternative quality check rules. I also learnt the use of Python for supporting laboratory decision support and Monte-Carlo simulation.
Before leaving school, I helped School of Nursing in evaluating the prevalence of methicillin resistance Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) in health elderly community.
I was running the one-man laboratory at the time, working on media preparation, sample transport, culture growing and identification via matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization-time of flight mass spectrometer (MALDI-TOF), susceptibility testing, storage of colonies and PCR of related genes.
Actually these are my side quests apart from studying, the natures were quite different to clinical works as mentioned above.
I worked as a translator for Humanities coursework in my Alma Mater for three years, a tutor helping fellow schoolmates for biology, and a private tutor teaching physics, chemistry and biology.

Bachelor of Science in Data Science and Business Analytics (First Class Honours), University of London (directed by London School of Economics and Political Science)
Why another degree in another field? Partly because of interest in handling data, but partly for the support of needs in analytics for my position.
My major work includes mathematics, economics, data science and business analytics.
Master of Science in Medical Laboratory Sciences, the Chinese University of Hong Kong
Probably the easiest degree I earned so far not because of the coursework difficulties but the relevance to my past work.
As it suggests, this is an advance degree of my previous bachelor about new technologies and management for running a medical laboratory. I was specialised in clinical chemistry and my thesis was about exponential moving average for quality check. I am not a manager of laboratory, but the analytical skillset and domain knowledge are still applicable to this day.
Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University
Well finally comes to where I started pursuing certificates.
This is the foundation of my current works and the three years I learnt all aspects of performing and interpreting results from all sorts of laboratories. My thesis was about Legionella prevalence in public bathhouses and sports centres. Apart from learning, I started developing as a songbird with joining choirs.
